Sam Thomson is a British international development specialist with five years of experience. Heholds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and an MSc. in Evolutionary Medicine (focused on public health) from Durham University, UK. He previously spent four years in international development consultancy, working in business development, research and project management on a range of programmes for clients including DFID, UN Agencies, the World Bank, and private companies. Sam has experience in range of development sectors including education, livelihoods, and extractives sector corporate social responsibility, and in 2017 coordinated a major disability inclusion study for a DFID market development project in northern Uganda. Currently Sam is a programme officer with a not-for-profit in his local island of Jersey, Channel Islands, coordinating projects in the dairy sector in a range of African countries.
Sam’s experience in Myanmar includes designing and coordinating mid and endline evaluation studies of a privately funded livelihoods project, in a remote rural area of Rakhine State. Sam provides support to the Bridge in the areas of proofreading and report writing as well as expertise in the areas of business development and communications.
